SITI workshop accompanying events

  1. 25th October 18:30-20:30: SITI lecture presentation, showing, and discussion: SITI Company’s 30 years
  2. 27th October 18:30-20:30: History of SITI Company – broader perspective of making and sustaining an ensemble in the 21st century
  3. 28th October 14:30-16:30 “Open house” of the training workshop for the public and participants to practice and share questions and insights.

For over 30 years SITI Company created new works, reinvented established texts and shared their remarkable training vocabulary with artists from around the world. Run by a triumvirate of co-artistic leaders, the Company aspired to work with a horizontal decision process on both the artistic and administrative side of its operations.

Please join Will Bond and Ellen Lauren, founding members, for a 2-part discussion, Wednesday Oct 25th (18.30-20.30) and Friday Oct 27th (18.30-20.30)

25th October 18:30-20:30: SITI lecture presentation, showing, and discussion: SITI Company’s 30 years
This event’s subject will be an overview of the culture and history out of which SITI emerged, and the subsequent 3 decades of practice, triumphs, and mistakes. Creating and sustaining an independent group in the US provided challenges along with various opportunities. Will and Ellen will present some of SITI’s solutions and cautionary tales in the hopes that it might provide possible ideas for other artists looking for guidance.

27th October 18:30-20:30: History of SITI Company – broader perspective of making and sustaining an ensemble in the 21st century
This event will continue to unpack SITI’s unique approach to devising new works, by offering a selection of examples of productions from the canon of SITI’s performance history. It is hoped the conversation will lead to a sharing of advice from the wider community to one another, and a continued fostering of the fellowship between artists that SITI Inc. continues to hold as a core value.

28th October 14:30-16:30 “Open house” of the training workshop for the public and participants to practice and share questions and insights.
On the 28th October, at the final day of the workshop the trainers and trainees open their practice, inviting everyone who is interested to an “open house”. During the event the participants and the public share questions and insights.
